I’m not really sure whats going on up in Sweden, but they certainly seem to be providing the world with some incredible music at the moment.
Hailing from Malmo, Hey Elbow have well and truly gotten stuck under my skin. Debut single Blanca is filled with visceral synthesizer drones and crashing guitars and serves as the hauntingly atmospheric backing to what is quite simply one of the most charged vocal performances that I’ve heard in a good while. The track ebbs and flows, with subtle and shivering brass lines floating through the density of the track, its texture completely encircling you for the entirety of the track. I’m still sitting here completely entranced…
