Despite it’s acclaim, the debut Rhye LP, Woman, brought with it a surprisingly small number of impersonators.
Now, I’m not saying Yumi Zouma is in anyway a direct impersonation of the LA band. However her debut track, A Long Walk Home For Parted Lovers, seems to take a tasteful amount of the band’s pallet, running with the ‘hollowed out 80’s funk aesthetic’ in a understatedly delightful direction. We’ll be watching about for more.
