Yet another batch of blissed out tracks that are set to be dominating your summer playlists has arrived in the form of Heavenly Beat’s debut album Talent.

This is a lone venture by Beach Fossils bassist John Peña who is following en suite the schema of a side project laid down by his fellow band mate Zachary Smith who’s band DIIV are fast gaining fans with their own take on the melancholic chillwave scene that has been ebbing in and out of the public consciousness for the last couple of years.
Where Heavenly Beat excels while others fail is their take on this now slightly tired genre; rather than re-hashing old aesthetics and sounds they’ve instead captured a blend of fresh yet nostalgic tracks. Each one feeling like a well worn favourite from the offset.
