The kids here at CITR were firm fans of Beat Culture’s Goldenbacked Weaver Mixtape when it surfaced back in July. It had an irrational and schizophrenic attitude to genre, and seemed pumped full of a youthful sense of life that I haven’t heard personified so acutely in beat music recently.

The new single from the 16-year-old wonder kid isn’t perhaps as elasticized or frankly wacky, yet it shows remarkable development. From the subdued patter of rain in the track’s opening, to the eruption around the tracks conclusion, Beat Culture is slowly learning to tell us a story. The story has never sounded so beautiful.
