The debut Rivka LP was a shot in the dark; lush and souring synths combined with zoned out yet utterly human vocals, to form something that was just perfect for the summer. As the summer ends, at least when it comes to Rivka, the vibe very much stays alive. Their new track, Sky Child, acts as a soundtrack to a summer gone by. It’s full of hope and yet tinged with lost memories and failed expectations. Rather than simply being, ‘that song for the summer’, Sky Child manages to be so wide and grand in scope, it encapsulates the period as a whole. It depicts the highs and lows of a period of life, regardless of the season.

Sky Child is out now on Crash Symbols.
