With a debut EP featuring fifteen different people, you can bet that New York singer/songwriter Madeline Modrala has big ambitions. Cloud, a five track release that swoops from hip-hop / rap inspired gems (Blood Brother) to far more sombre numbers (Bad Kid), is choc-a-bloc with tantalizing arrangements and showcases Modrala as a potential future star. There's a wonderfully disjointed air to each track, never quite flowing with the same bravado that you expect from music with that features clarinets, flutes and french horns, amongst other instruments.
Quietly confident in her own ability, it's Maybe where Madeline really excels, a bittersweet ode to a weary lover. Check out her debut EP in full below, and the video for Blood Brother underneath that.
