The video for James Blake’sLindisfarne’ premiered on Pitchfork a few days ago. Directed by Martin de Thurah, the video explores the ideas of youth, maturity and coming of age. Although full of benign imagery and delicately constructed juvenile games, there’s a darkness in this high school sleep over that’s hinted at in the most poignant of ways. The gathering descends into a hopeful yet ultimately sad ‘send-off’ tale, as we watch a vivid representation of a group of friends losing one of their own.
