Brighton’s Great Escape festival is one of the premier showcases for emerging talent in the UK. Each year, a multitude of bands and thousands of punters descend on the coastal city and wreak musical mayhem. This year is shaping up nicely, as today a host of artists were announced. There’s a good mix of some big and some up-and-coming names nestled in the mass, which makes the weekend look exciting as hell. Mac Demarco, Scrufizzer, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Darkstar, Alunageorge, CHVRCHES, King Krule and How To Dress Well cover numerous genres and showcase exceptionally well the strength of Great Escape; variety and excitement, with particular focus on the contemporary.
