It must be hard to be a female MC right about now.
Hip-Hop, after all, is a male dominated genre. And for some reason the music buying public only has a small tolerance for female artists at any one given time. Dominique Young Unique has been building up buzz for a small time now, and there’s no reason she can’t get cosy with the likes of Banks and Minaj sooner rather than later.
Her new cut, Ranbo, is a pumping and bass fuelled little gem. It features a Ravenously quick flow delivered with an understated voice that perhaps puts her in a different lane to her recent contemporaries.
Here’s hoping.
