After seven-odd years of hard graft and a musical evolution unparalleled by the majority of their peers, Cats and Cats and Cats, one of the South’s most skewed ‘guitar music’ outfits, have decided to call it a day, as of the end of this month.

The band state that “the reasons behind the break up are entirely amicable, for years the band has been our main priority but at some point other things were bound to get in the way and all of the band members have big plans that have edged their way into contention“, and have issued a fuller statement, and a promise for more, on their website.

Meanwhile, for anyone with a burning desire to catch the quartet before they gracefully bow out, some good news, especially if you’re on the continent. The band are playing a final show at the Bull and Gate in Kentish Town this Friday, and are embarking on two-week European tour afterwards. Dates are as follows.

10 Feb Bull and Gate, London
11 Feb Centre Culture Libertaire, Lille
13 Feb AZ, Menden
14 Feb K4, Nurenberg
15 Feb Chapeau Rouge, Prague
16 Feb Schokoladen, Berlin
17 Feb Swamp, Freiburg
