This weeks belated single of the week is most likely my favourite single of the year.
It goes by way of Aloe Blacc, with his soulful number I Need a Dollar, first single from his upcoming sophomore solo album Good Things, to be released on Stones Throw Records.
Reminiscent of 70’s soul, the track is stirring, bluesy and instantly likeable. I Need a Dollar sets a very high standard for Good Things, which could well turn out to be a truly memorable modern soul LP.
